Wylie and Tribal Music Tour Guide Stephanie Buffington for an inspirational experience of a lifetime to one of the most enchanting and deeply spiritual cultures remaining on earth. The tour includes inspired daily meditations with Reverend Karen and workshops in Balinese ceremonial ritual with village high priests, all in preparation to enter the timeless realms of Balinese magic and ceremony. You will witness a colorful processions and attend a festive temple ceremony to receive the Holy Water blessing. You will also have the unique opportunity to visit and receive treatment with renown shaman healer Tjokorda Rai and experience traditional healing massages. DAILY ITINERARY for "Sacred Journey to Mystical Bali 2010"

Day 1
Friday April 30 2010 (early Friday AM flight)
PLEASE ARRIVE AT LAX BRADLEY BUILDING China Airlines Counter no later than 10:15 PM !
(Thursday night April 29,look for the yellow Tribal Music Tours (TMT) flag. Depart LAX 12:55 AM via Taipei on China Airlines

Day 2
Saturday May 1st
Arrive Bali 2:50 PM transfer to Beach Front resorts for check-in and overnight stay. Enjoy the pools for a moonlight swim or have a meal at a colorful boardwalk restaurant. A good night's sleep is recommended.

Day 3 ~ Beach Resort
Sunday May 2nd
Leisurely morning breakfast. Go for a walk on Bali's famous Legion Beach, change money, get a massage, shop for sarongs. Get grounded and refreshed. We will have an orientation lunch with the whole group before 1:30 PM coach transfer to Jungle Villas in Ubud area.
4:30 Walk to through the exotic Monkey Forest and learn your way around the village.

Day 4 ~ High Priest Blessing Ceremony ~ Special Dinner & Katac Dance
Monday May 3rd
Early morning meditation and blessing ritual from a local High Priest who will explain the mystical elements of ceremony and use of ritual objects.
Spend the afternoon free to go for a massage and/or explore the huge and colorful Ubud Bazaar for handicraft treasures. 7:15 Evening celebration feast and special men's "Kecak" trance dance performance by torch light at Leke Lake Restaurant short walk from the Villas.

DAY 5 ~ Silent Rice Field Walk ~ Visit to Healer
Tuesday May 4th
10:00 AM This morning we will go for a silent walking meditation though the picturesque rice fields to a remote organic restaurant for superb lunch.
2:00 PM This afternoon you can visit an authentic Balinese shaman Tjokorda Rai for a profound experience in the magical healing arts. His work has had astounding results with visitors from around the world.

Day 6 ~ Gunung Kowi Healing Sound Caves ~ Legong Performance
Wednesday May 5th
Early AM excursion to Gunung Kawi ~ 11th century temple carved into the mountain side with ancient meditation and healing sound caves where it is said you can experience the heart beat of the earth. The rock faces of the river gorge are a massive feat of stone carving. The entire valley is dotted with enormous tombs, stupas and the meditation caves of Bali's first Buddhist monks can be seen. Tonight we will visit the Royal Palace for special performance of gamelan orchestra and the sacred Legong Dance.

Day 7 ~ Tenganan ~ Hidden Paradise
Thursday May 6th (Carry on overnight bag ONLY!)
9:00 AM departure for East Bali and Tenganan / Amed with overnight at Hidden Paradise.
Today we will visit Tenganan Bali's oldest village to meet with a master musician in his home where we will have the opportunity to hear and play ancient instruments and see unique weaving techniques done nowhere else in the world.
After a seaside lunch we will continue our journey to Amed through the spectacular rice field vistas with the sacred Agung Volcano as a looming backdrop. The evening is complete with evening prayers, ocean front feast and moonlight massage.

Day 8th ~ Snorkel Excursion to Amed Hidden Paradise
Friday May 7th
Rise early for dawn meditation and the spectacular sunrise over Lombock as seen from the beach.
9:00 am Outrigger's depart for snorkeling adventure to a small wreck teeming with colorful fish and coral.
Lunch and leisurely swim, beach combing until departure.
4:00 pm The coach returns to the Villas in the Ubud area.

Day 9 ~ Springs of Immortality Ritual At Tirta Empul ~ Artist Village Walk
Saturday May 8th
This AM we will visit at Tirta Empul sacred bathing pools where you may dip in what the Balinese consider the waters of immortality for a purification ritual. Legend has it that the sacred spring was created by the god Indra. His forces had been poisoned by Mayadanawa, so he pierced the earth to create a fountain of immortality to revive them.
An inscription dates the founding of the temple at this site to 926 AD. Ever since, for more than a thousand years, the Balinese have come to bathe in the sacred waters for healing and spiritual rejuvenation.
Back in Ubud for lunch at Murnie's warong, set on the side of the jungle with splendid views and excellent food and surround by some of Ubud's finest art galleries. Afterward there will be a walk through the artist village and jungle to the picturesque Agung River for a rejuvenating dip and an unforgettable view of the famous Rice Terraces of Sayan.

Day 10 ~ Dance Workshop with Sang Ayu and PM Temple Ceremony
Sunday May 9th
Balinese Dance workshop with Sang Ayu This morning we will meet one of Bali's most renowned dance teachers still teaching at 90 years of age. We will learn the secrets of her longevity as she shows us the fundamentals of the graceful hand movements and postures. Her number one Western student for the last 25 years, Barbara Mintz, will be assisting her and is a master teacher of dance in Ubud today. Visit her web site at www.rightangle.com/bhava. Tonight is the Odalan Temple Ceremony at Sukawati there will be a large and colorful procession from the village to the temple where the High Priest will bless you with special holy water as the shaman chant verses of the Mahabrata. Temple gear required.

Day 11 ~ Prayer Circle and Feast
Monday May 10th
Today there will be plenty of free time to shop for last minute gifts at the Ubud Bazar and art market or relax with a massage treatment.
Tonight we will have our last night feast and prayer circle with Rev. Karen and all our new Balinese friends. A joyous climax to a transformational journey.

Day 12 ~ Departure Day
Tuesday May 11 ~ Depart Bali 3:30 PM ~ Arrive LAX 8:05PM

  • Group is limited to 20 participants maximum. A $600 deposit is required to hold your place by February 15th 2010.

  • Dinners, lunches and drinks not mentioned in itinerary. There are delicious international restaurants in Ubud for all tastes and budgets as well as snacks available at the villas. Budget $20 to $35 per day for meals.
  • A valid passport is needed to go to Bali, and due to the new security measures, your passport must be valid for 6 months AFTER YOU RETURN HOME or at least until 12/12/2010
  • A travelers packet will be sent to you when you have registered that will have all the detailed information you'll need.
  • Trip and medical insurance for your tour is your responsibility and advised.
  • Participation in the group program is not required but highly recommended.
